While we invest wisely to ensure our members have a stable retirement income when they retire, we also recognize the need to invest in our community with our time, efforts and energy.

It’s an endeavour we undertake together as an organization – and one we carry out with pride.

The United Way

HOOPP employees take the United Way’s motto to heart: “Without you, there would be no way.”

For over 10 years, HOOPP has supported the United Way of Greater Toronto by participating in an annual fundraising campaign, knowing that, together, we can help to create lasting change in our city.

Many employees choose to make ongoing pledges throughout the year through payroll deductions.

We understand that every dollar helps and that, together, we can make a difference every single day.

Community Involvement

You can’t solve a problem without seeing it – that’s the basic principle behind the “Seeing is Believing” program.

Because HOOPP’s membership is 84% female, we made a conscious decision to focus on an organization that supports women and newcomers to Canada in their efforts to become economically self-sufficient.

By providing training and educational opportunities at the non-profit Community MicroSkills Development Centre, HOOPP volunteers work directly with MicroSkills’ clients to help them develop the skills needed to find employment and to eventually become financially independent.

Environmental Initiatives

At HOOPP, we’re conscious of the carbon footprint that we’re leaving behind – and we’re striving to reduce it in every possible way. With our “Go Green” program, we recognize that simple choices make a huge difference in leaving our planet a better place.

With the goal of reducing waste and recycling wherever possible, HOOPP is committed to doing its part in keeping our planet green.
