  • I think HOOPP is one of the most trustworthy pension plans. It seems that this plan is in the hands of people that know how to survive the good and the bad financial times.

  • WHO CAN JOIN HOOPP?

    Full-time employees

One of the benefits of being a full-time employee at a HOOPP employer is that, upon hiring, you immediately become a member of HOOPP.

    Contract workers

Occasionally, contract workers at HOOPP employers can join the Plan – if you’re in this situation, ask your employer whether you qualify to become a member of HOOPP.

    Part-time employees

If you are a part-time employee at an organization that offers HOOPP, you can join HOOPP when, in the previous calendar year, you have:

    • Worked a minimum of 700 hours or
    • Earned at least 35% of the year's maximum pensionable earnings (YMPE)

The criteria for part-time enrollment may vary - check with your human resources department about becoming a member.

To meet the minimum eligibility requirements, you can add together your hours or earnings from more than one HOOPP employer.
