Jacky Lee is Senior Managing Director and Head of the Total Portfolio Group where he leads the evolution of HOOPP's Total Portfolio Approach (TPA), implements liability-aware investing strategies, and oversees the development of the total fund management framework. Jacky's work is focused on navigating the complexities of current economic conditions through an integrated, cross-asset perspective.
Since joining HOOPP in 2019, Jacky has played a central role in strengthening the Plan's total portfolio capabilities. He is an industry thought leader on TPA, co-authoring "Total Portfolio Approach" in the Journal of Portfolio Management, which introduces TPA as a flexible investment strategy focused on preparedness, cross-asset thinking, and holistic decision-making. He is also co-author of "Total Portfolio Approach: A Critical Literature Review," published by the CFA Institute Research Foundation. He currently serves on the editorial advisory boards of both the Journal of Portfolio Management and the Journal of Financial Data Science.
Jacky holds a BASc, MASc, and Master of Mathematical Finance from the University of Toronto. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and recognized by the International Centre for Pension Management (ICPM), the Pacific Center for Asset Management (PCAM), and the Kroner Center for Financial Research. Later this year, he will publish a co-authored book, "Total Portfolio Management: An Introduction to Institutional Investing and Asset Allocation.
