As a member, you have access to HOOPP Connect, your secure, online pension resource, where you can:

  • update your personal information
  • use the Pension Estimator to see what your future pension could look like
  • view your Annual Statements and other HOOPP documents

How your pension works

HOOPP is a defined benefit (DB) pension. This means the pension you receive in retirement is calculated using a formula based on your earnings and years of service in the Plan – and won’t be affected by the day-to-day ups and downs of the market.

You make contributions on the earnings you receive from your employer. For every dollar you contribute, your employer contributes $1.26 on your behalf. All contributions are invested in the HOOPP Fund and when you retire, you receive a monthly pension for the rest of your life. Learn more about how your pension works.

Pension portability

If you choose to move to another HOOPP employer, your pension can come with you. Learn more about pension portability.

Buyback options

Early retirement

With a HOOPP pension, you can retire as early as 55 and may be eligible to receive an additional bridge benefit until the age of 64. Learn more about retiring early.
