The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) once again reinforced its role as a global leader in real estate sustainability by honouring property managers and tenants for excellence in areas such as sustainability innovation, climate leadership, stakeholder engagement and community impact.
By investing in and developing healthy, efficient, and high-performing buildings with lower environment footprints, HOOPP delivers quality products to tenants and long-term value for our 400,000+ members.
The event supports HOOPP’s overall sustainable investing strategy, which is built upon three pillars:
- We integrate ESG factors into our investment strategies and activities
- We are responsible stewards of our investments
- We foster the sustainability of our communities, ecosystems and markets
This was the 10th anniversary of HOOPP’s LEAP Awards, and we are excited to be celebrating a decade of accomplishments while honouring outstanding achievements within HOOPP’s real estate portfolio in the past year. The awards were announced at a Carbonzero Certified virtual event on June 3, where high-quality carbon offsets were purchased to help mitigate the climate impact of the event.
HOOPP is a global leader in real estate sustainability practices and has more than 50 million square feet of office, retail, residential and industrial space in over 200 locations across Canada, the United States and Europe. Our efforts have achieved global recognition for our commitment to environmental sustainability standards in our real estate portfolio.
As part of our overall sustainable investing approach, HOOPP participates in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) and annual Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) reporting.
