We are pleased to announce that HOOPP has been named one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers for 2022. This is the second year in a row HOOPP has been selected for this distinction, one that we’re particularly proud of, as this speaks directly to our commitment to a people-first environment that fosters respect and belonging.
The people at HOOPP are at the core of our success. When employees thrive, we grow stronger as an organization, and this emphasis on employee well-being has helped to make HOOPP an employer of choice.
“HOOPP is as successful as it is because of our employees,” said Elena Palumbo-Sergnese, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources. “If we don’t have healthy employees, then we won’t have continued success.”
Now in its 16th edition, the competition grows stronger each year and has become the benchmark in the GTA for workplace best practices as more employers continue to recognize that their employees’ health directly impacts the success of their organizations. This has become even more evident in light of the pandemic.
“I was impressed by how quickly HOOPP adapted to remote work and how quickly seminars were offered on how to deal with the new reality, how not to feel isolated and how to overcome stress,” said Irina Minski, Project Manager, Product & Service Experience.
The award recognizes employers based on criteria including work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; and vacation and time off. Below are just a few of the reasons that resulted in HOOPP winning this award:
- Making mental health a priority during these challenging times by developing and rolling out an organization-wide strategy that includes, among other things, mental health training for managers and an emphasis on work-life balance.
- Our commitment to championing diversity and inclusion, including the addition of two new benefit offerings Gender Affirmation Benefits and Fertility Coverage.
- Enabling long-term peace of mind with health benefits that extend to retirees.
The winners are featured in a special magazine published in The Globe and Mail, as well as on the Globe’s website, Eluta.ca and Canada's Top 100 website.
