The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is pleased to announce it has been named one of the Greater Toronto Area’s Top 2021 Employers. Amid a strong and competitive field of applications from across the region, HOOPP was recognized as one of the best places to work in the GTA.
The award recognizes employers based on criteria including work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; and vacation and time off.
“This award highlights HOOPP’s commitment to upholding our culture by leading with compassion and a people-first perspective,” said Elena Palumbo-Sergnese, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, HOOPP. “It’s an honour to be recognized for providing a friendly and supportive workplace environment.”
She added: “From physical and mental wellness to continuous learning and development, there is a strong focus on supporting employees’ overall well-being.”
Below are just a few of the reasons that resulted in HOOPP winning this award:
- Our membership offering for HOOPP’s defined benefit pension plan, which helps employees prepare for retirement.
- Our excellent learning and development initiatives to support employees’ career growth.
- Our support of new parents with maternity and parental leave top-up payments, as well as our Keep in Touch (KIT) buddy program to help keep employees connected throughout the duration of their leave and enable a smooth transition back.
Palumbo-Sergnese said: “Another important aspect of our success is our shared mission of delivering on the pension promise to our members. This focus motivates and guides all aspects of the organization.”
The winners are featured in a special magazine published in The Globe and Mail, as well as on the Globe’s website, Eluta.ca and Canada's Top 100 website.
