Member communications going digital in 2022
HOOPP is committed to serving our members, keeping them informed and providing them with a pension for life. Technology is playing an increasingly important part in that commitment, especially as the demand for quick and secure access to information grows.
To meet the evolving needs of our membership, help keep the Plan affordable and support the environment, HOOPP will be transitioning to mainly digital member communications starting February 1, 2022. No action is required from HOOPP employers as there
is no impact to employer-related processes.
What members can expect
Personal pension information such as benefit election packages and updates on events in progress will be delivered through HOOPP Connect, our secure online member site. General member information such as newsletters, Plan change announcements and surveys
will be delivered via email. HOOPP will use the email address that we have on file to notify members of all communications.
In some cases, HOOPP may still send information by regular mail.
Note: if members currently receive their annual statements by mail, they will continue to do so, while also receiving them electronically on HOOPP Connect.
Members who prefer to receive all required HOOPP communications as paper copies by regular mail can opt out of digital communications by contacting our Member Services team by phone.
Members will receive a letter from HOOPP between late
November and early January outlining the details of this change and information about how they can opt out of digital communications. The personalized letter includes the member’s current email address on file, if available. Members are asked
to review, update and add their email address (if not provided) on HOOPP Connect as needed to ensure they receive important HOOPP updates.
