Important information about tax slips from HOOPP
Here's what you need to know
Starting in 2020, HOOPP will be sending all tax slips to members by mail.
Members who had previously indicated a preference to receive tax slips electronically will also receive a physical copy. We are making this change because pension-related tax slips are very important documents and we don’t want members to miss them.
You will receive tax slips from HOOPP based on your status in the Plan:
- Active members will receive a tax slip in some instances if you bought back service or transferred your benefit out of the Plan.
- Deferred members will receive a tax slip in some instances if you were an active member in 2019 and you bought back service, or once you start receiving your pension from the Plan.
- Retired members receive a tax slip every year.
If you receive a tax slip, you’ll need to use it when you file your tax return.
Copies of your tax slips, annual statements and other documents are always available on HOOPP Connect. Register for or sign in to HOOPP Connect today.
